The school was established in 1909 and has since served a stable farming community who traditionally farm cattle, grow grain crops and run dairies.

Students generally come to school by bus, or if they live in town, on foot or on push bikes.

Teaching and learning

Students are taught in two large multi-age classes; an early years class (prep to year 3) and middle years class (years 4-6). We have two full time teachers, one of whom is a teaching Principal, one part time teachers and three teacher aides, all of whom are highly skilled and committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for our students.

The air-conditioned classrooms are bright and colourful and equipped with a interactive whiteboards and computers. There is dedicated computer lab and additional laptops for groups of students to use. A recent wireless upgrade has been completed. This enables us to easily integrate information and communication technologies into teaching and learning.

A number of visiting specialist teachers services the school including learning support teacher, an advisory visiting teacher for students with a disability and a language pathologist.

Language other than English (LOTE) - Japanese for years 5 and 6 is taught through the School of Distance Education in Brisbane.
